Overview
Jeremiah 11 discusses the covenant God made with Israel, which they have repeatedly broken by worshipping other gods. God declares that He will bring the curses of the covenant upon them, as they have forsaken His laws. The chapter reveals that the people of Judah and Jerusalem have conspired against Jeremiah, planning to silence him for speaking God's word. Jeremiah is unaware of this plot until God reveals it to him. The chapter also mentions God's refusal to listen to the people's cries when disaster strikes them because of their idolatry. Jeremiah mourns over the treachery of his own people and the widespread apostasy in Judah. The chapter ends with God instructing Jeremiah not to intercede for the people, as He has decided to punish them for their unfaithfulness.
