Unveiling the Prophetic Vision: God's Ultimate Sacrifice Foretold
Gen 22:8 God will provide himself...
It’s interesting to note the verbiage in our text! Without careful observation, one could easily assume that Abraham was speaking of the sacrifice that God would provide on that particular day; however, we soon discover that God did not provide a lamb on that day, but rather a ram. Coincidence? Accident? Typo? I don’t think so! Abraham’s words were prophetic in nature, as he was not speaking of that day, but he was speaking of Calvary! Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness (Gen 15:6)! The fact is, Abraham was looking ahead to the Lamb of God that was slain before the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8)! He knew that there would come a day that the Messiah would come through his lineage, even as God had promised, and save His people from their sins (Mat 1:21). And when God could find no other worthy to become the final sacrifice for sins once and for all (Rom 3:10), He provided Himself (Eph 2:15)! In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word WAS God (John 1:1), and the word was made flesh (that’s Jesus!), and dwelt among us (John 1:14)! Friend, Jesus was more than just another prophet; He was God made flesh, who walked a mile in our shoes, and paid our sin debt once and for all (Heb 10:10)! Hallelujah! What a Saviour! Will you receive Christ today? See Rom 10:9-10, 13!
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
