From Judgment to Joy: The Transformative Power of Faith in Christ
Matthew 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
If this generation understood the weight of judgment that is going to fall upon us, we would repent in sackcloth and ashes. Although Christ was speaking directly to His generation during His earthly ministry, the warning applies to all generations. One day, judgment is coming, and when it does, “all these things” will come upon us. What things, you may ask? In our text, Christ was telling them that all of the righteous blood shed from the beginning until then would fall on that generation, as they would be the ones to crucify The Lord Jesus. As for today’s generation, all who reject Christ as Savior will face the same fate; judgment and damnation in an eternal, Christless place called the lake of fire. Dear reader, you do not want the full weight of the wrath of Almighty God to come justly upon you. If so, there will be no hope for you to escape for all eternity. However, there is hope! Place your trust in The Lord Jesus Christ today! Confess to Him your sins, and in a repented heart give your life to Him, and He will cleanse you with His own righteous blood! You see, Christ took God’s wrath on the Cross for you, as your substitute. However, salvation is a gift which must be accepted. You cannot simply expect to be in Heaven one day, without having placed your faith in Christ. Turn to Him today, and you will then find forgiveness of sins, and eternal life forevermore! Oh, the joy of knowing that for my penalty He paid the price, so that I could go free. Without Christ, I’d face God alone, in my own unrighteousness and sin. Without Christ, I’d have to pay for my sins for ever and ever. BUT, WITH Christ, I’ll face God in Christ. When God sees me on Judgment day, He will not see my sins; rather, He will see the blood of His Son on my heart, and thereby grant me His righteousness, and make me accepted in the beloved. Come to Christ today! Do not hesitate another moment, because tomorrow; no, 1 minute from now, may be too late. You do not want to go into eternity without Christ, dear friend. Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Give Him your life today, and be spared from the wrath to come!
