Week 3, Day 21:  The Spirit’s Fruit of Faith and Gift of Faith

  • Matthew 15:28  Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

  • Insight: Matthew 15:28 highlights the extraordinary faith of the Canaanite woman, whose persistence and trust in Jesus led to her daughter’s healing. Though she was a Gentile, her faith came by hearing the Word, as Romans 10:17 (KJV) states: “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The Word and the Spirit always work together, not separately, and it was through the Spirit that she received the faith she needed to believe for her miracle.

This faith reflects the Fruit of Faith (Galatians 5:22)—“love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance”—a consistent trust in God. It also points to the Gift of Faith (1 Corinthians 12:9): “To another faith by the same Spirit.” This supernatural gift enables believers to trust God for extraordinary outcomes, empowering them to believe for miracles, breakthroughs, and divine interventions. By the Spirit, her faith not only moved her to action but also brought about divine healing and restoration.

  • Prayer: Thank God for the Holy Spirit, who cultivates faith in your heart and grants the supernatural Gift of Faith to believe for miracles. Praise Him for the unity of His Word and Spirit, which empower us to trust Him and see His promises fulfilled. Pray for the Spirit to deepen your trust in Him, to grant you bold faith for His purposes, and to glorify Him through your life.

Close with this prayer from Acts 4:29-30:
"And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus." May the Spirit fill you with bold faith, grounded in His Word, and empower you to trust God for the extraordinary.
